The logic of organic form vs. the logic of rational form yields, in collision, the dialectic of the art-form.

Sergei Eisenstein: A Dialectic Approach to Film Form

Lara is a Spanish born filmmaker editor based in London. Since 2012 she has been collaborating with artists to create large scale audio visual installations mainly for a gallery context. She understands film as a collaborative practice, and her work focus in exploring images and sound to build narratives that can expand the conventional story telling forms, and at the same time captivate and challenge the audience's attention and expectations.

Lara graduated in Fine Arts at Universidad Complutense of Madrid. In 2006 she was awarded a four years scholarship to complete a practice-based PhD in Visual Studies.

Titled The Rwandan Genocide: Alfredo Jaar and the insufficient gaze, the research encounters problems born out of the relationship between experience and representation. It evaluates distance as a method to formulate a respond to various interdisciplinary art work engaging with other people's pain.

Since moving to London in 2008 her collaborations include work with John Akonfrah, Lilian Lijn and institutions like Tate Media and the Hayward gallery.
